Who we are

OHH-WIO, One Health Hub for the Western Indian Ocean, is a Madagascar-rooted nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the One Health approach. We connect human, animal, and ecosystem health with community wellbeing, recognizing that lasting solutions depend on collaboration across disciplines, institutions and territories.
Our regional perspective reflects the ecological and social connections linking Madagascar with the wider Western Indian Ocean. From forests, farms and cities to coasts and marine ecosystems, we seek to support solutions that are scientifically sound, locally relevant and socially equitable.

Our mission

To promote, develop and put One Health into practice by connecting human, animal and ecosystem health; strengthening community resilience; and supporting the conservation and sustainable management of terrestrial, coastal and marine environments.

Our vision

A resilient Western Indian Ocean region where people, animals and ecosystems thrive together, and where knowledge, policy and collective action protect health for present and future generations.

Our values

Integrity, scientific rigor, transparency, accountability, equity, inclusion, participation, independence and respect for communities, biodiversity and ecosystems guide our work.
